The Martisor

The Martisor, a spring token, a tiny adornment tied with a red and white entwined cord presented on March 1, is one of the most representative Romanian traditions that celebrates the arrival of spring.

Romanian Language

Romanian is actually a romance language (along with French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, etc.) and that means if you speak one of the languages mentioned above, you'll be able to read the street signs, menus, etc.

The currency used in Romania is the leu (lei for plural, also written as RON) and the exchange rate is usually about 3.4 lei to the USD (1 Euro ~ 4.4 lei). Leu is Lion in english.
